Japanese? There Must Be a Reason for This...

Ailius here. I'm currently studying Japanese at Columbia University.
Why? Well, I visited my relatives, who live in Tsujidō, Japan, this summer. They can speak both Mandarin and Japanese, and then it hit me: I'd like to communicate with them in both Mandarin and Japanese as well.
I've been under Japanese culture's influence since birth. My parents brought me to Japan when I was about 3 years-old but I had no memories of it. What a bummer.
Anyways, I want to become fluent in Japanese so I can understand the songs from AKB48 I've been listening. Of course, this is not the only reason; this is one of many, many reasons.
For now, I'll end it here.
